Muse in your Chrome side panel

Muse (muse.ai) is Meta’s personal AI agent. This is an independent extension that opens Muse beside any website and adds its own tools around it.

Blue bunny pointing at a laptop: Use Muse from your browser sidebar

What this extension adds

  • Muse in the Chrome side panel, next to any site
  • Auto Approve, with your own rules for what Muse may do
  • Crop to Muse: drag over the page and ask about it
  • Right-click questions about any text or image
  • Three ways to open it: shortcut, toolbar icon or right-click menu

Why use Muse in the side panel

  • No more tab switching. Muse stays open on the right while you read, research, shop, write or code.
  • A clean panel with a thin top bar, so Muse gets almost the full space.
  • Everything Muse can do, plus extra tools around it: crop to Muse, right-click questions and Auto Approve.
  • Reload Muse in one click if a page gets stuck, or open it in a full browser tab anytime.
  • No API key and no extra login. It uses the Muse account you already use in Chrome, and your features and limits stay the same as on muse.ai.

The tools this extension adds around Muse

Auto Approve

Muse sometimes waits for your choice. Auto Approve picks for you, using only the settings you choose, and every action is logged. Off by default and pausable anytime.

Crop to Muse

Click crop and drag over any part of the page. Ask Muse to explain a chart, read text from an image, fix an error, compare products or summarize a slide. Also in the right-click menu.

Right-click

Select text, right-click and choose “Ask Muse about…”. Right-click an image for “Ask Muse about this image”.

No API key

The panel opens muse.ai with the Muse account you already use in Chrome. No separate account for the extension.

Auto Approve, set your way

While the Muse agent works, it sometimes shows a card and waits for you to choose an option. Auto Approve can pick that option for you, based only on the settings you choose. It is off by default. Nothing happens until you turn it on.

Blue bunny holding an Allow, Ask, Deny clipboard: Set your own rules with Auto Approve

Button rules

  • Type a button’s text exactly as Muse shows it, like “Always allow uploads to this site”
  • Match the exact text, or any button whose text contains your words
  • Rules run top to bottom. Move a rule up and it wins
  • Never rules: cards with your word are always left for you
  • Button rules only mode: nothing else is used
  • Rules use the words on screen, so they work in any language

Per type of request

  • Choose Allow, Ask or Deny for website access, browser actions, uploads, connectors and tools
  • Choose how an Allow is applied: Allow once, Allow for this task, or Always allow

Per site, action or chat

  • Auto allow sites you use often, auto deny sites you don’t want, or keep Ask. Include subdomains if you like
  • Do the same for a specific action, or for a whole chat
  • Deny rules always come first

Waiting tab

  • Cards that need your choice are listed here
  • A small number on the shield shows how many are waiting
  • Pick any button: “Click once” for right now, or “Always click” to save it as a rule in one tap

Activity

  • See everything Auto Approve did, when, on which site and which of your rules was used
  • Filter the list and export it as CSV anytime

Easy control

  • Pause for 15 minutes or 1 hour. It resumes on its own
  • The shield turns green while Auto Approve is on
  • A short setup guide helps the first time
  • Export rules and import them on another computer. They also sync across Chrome browsers signed in to your account
  • Works in the side panel and in a normal muse.ai tab
