Muse AI Sidebar & Side Panel – Auto Approve, Chat & Agent Assistant

Muse AI Sidebar & Side Panel is a Chrome extension that opens Muse (muse.ai) in the Chrome side panel. The extension has no servers of its own. It does not collect, sell or share your data, and it has no analytics, tracking or ads. Everything it saves stays in your own Chrome storage.

What the extension handles and why

1. Text, images and screenshots you choose to send to Muse

When you right-click and choose “Ask Muse about…”, “Ask Muse about this image” or “Crop area to Muse”, or use the crop button in the side panel, the extension takes only what you picked: the selected text, that image, or the area you dragged over. It passes it to Muse in the side panel. It is held in your Chrome storage for a moment until the panel picks it up, and it is not sent anywhere else.

2. Auto Approve settings and activity

Auto Approve is off by default. If you turn it on, your settings and rules are saved in Chrome sync storage, so they follow you to your other signed-in Chrome browsers. To match your rules, Auto Approve reads the text of Muse’s task cards on muse.ai. A list of what it did (time, site, button and rule used, up to 300 entries) and any one-time choices are kept only on this device. Cards waiting for you are shared between the muse.ai page and the side panel only while the browser is open.

3. Microphone

Chrome can’t show the microphone prompt inside a side panel, so the extension opens a small page where you can allow the microphone once. It turns the microphone off right after you allow it. The extension never records or stores audio. Voice chat itself is handled by Muse.

4. Other small settings

The extension remembers whether you have already seen the guided tour.

What the extension does not do

  • It does not send any data to the developer. There is no backend server.
  • No analytics, telemetry, tracking, crash reporting or ads.
  • It does not read your cookies, passwords or browsing history.
  • It does not sell, rent or transfer your data to anyone.
  • No person reads your data.
3

Third-party services

Muse (muse.ai) is a service from Meta. Anything you send to Muse, including text, images and screenshots from this extension, is handled by Muse under Meta’s own terms and privacy policy. Settings saved in Chrome sync storage are synced by Google under Google’s privacy policy. This extension does not control how those services handle data.

4

Side panel network rules

To load muse.ai inside the side panel, the extension removes a few response headers that block it from showing in a frame. This only applies to Muse and Meta domains, and only inside the side panel. It does not read, store or change the content of any request, and normal browser tabs are not affected.

This website

The website at musesidebar.tech is a simple information page. It has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when the page opens, and Google may see your IP address as part of that request under Google’s own privacy policy. All data stays in Chrome’s built-in extension storage on your device or in your Chrome sync account. The extension does not send your data over the network itself. Muse loads over HTTPS.
